Devan Rouse

Client Service Associate

Devan joined Platt Wealth Management as a Client Service Associate after a long career in the Zoological field. With a background in animal care and customer experience, Devan’s compassionate nature and ability to connect with people from all walks of life make her a valuable addition to our Client Service team. She is excited to apply her strong communication skills to cultivating relationships with our clients and supporting our operations.

Devan recently relocated to Austin, TX, where she works remotely. A Southern California native, she hopes to return to San Diego someday. In the meantime, she is taking advantage of all Austin offers and exploring her new environment with her partner and canine companion.

When are you most happy?

I am happiest and most at peace when I am out in the wilderness. I love backpacking and immersing myself in nature, without cell service, where there is nothing else I could or should be doing other than living in the moment and taking in the beauty around me.

What are the causes you care about? Or tell me a little bit about the organizations you or your family support.

I have always been extremely passionate about conservation and sustainability. I support Zoos and other conservation organizations that work tirelessly to save species from extinction and preserve our natural resources and environment. I frequently donate to grassroots organizations and volunteer locally to participate in trash cleanups or invasive species removal. Anything I can do to reduce my carbon footprint and help reverse our effect on the environment.

What is your personal motto or mantra?

Reduce, reuse, recycle. I bet you haven’t heard that one in a while! It is something that I constantly think about. In everything I do, every purchase I make, I consider the effect it will have on the environment and try to minimize it in any way I can.

What is your favorite vacation spot? And why?

My favorite vacation spots are National Parks in the states and internationally. Appreciating the awe-inspiring landscapes and observing wildlife never gets old. There is so much to do, see, and explore.

What is the most challenging part of your role?

The most challenging part of my new role is physically and mentally adjusting to an office job. Until now, I’ve worked my whole career outdoors and on my feet all day. It has been a huge lifestyle change (one that I welcome), but I’m learning how to best keep active throughout the day. Trying to keep up with all the finance terminology has posed its fair share of challenges as well!
